"Changing Lives By: Opening Doors & Building Communities"
NIA has campaigned “Illegal Dumping Cleanups” since 2015.
Our Illegal Dumping Campaign targets dumping in the local Trenton community. Illegal dumping poses a number of threats to the city, environment, wildlife, and citizens, in addition to creating other long-term issues.
As of February 2021, NIA has cleaned up over 45 illegal dumping sites throughout the city. A variety of people volunteer with us: Trenton residents, The College of New Jersey Bonners and students, Rider University Bonners, local politicians and activists, local businesses, Trenton Police, and more!

We are proud to welcome our Youth Inclusion Initiative (YII) Summer Program 2025 participants! As the only Trenton-based organization selected for this statewide effort, NIA, in partnership with the NJ Dept of Environmental Protection, offers a unique opportunity for local youth ages 16–20 to explore environmental leadership. Participants will visit NJDEP sites and learn from professionals in the field, while gaining valuable experience through hands-on learning, community projects, and professional workshops, building leadership skills and making a positive impact in their community.
